This lesson will help you in reviewing the steps for mounting.

It is important that you have done all of the preparation for safe mounting BEFORE committing to a complete mount.

That includes:  the horse is calm, doesn't move off when you step into the stirrup, that you can sit quietly and relaxed once you are in the saddle.

You must also be able to bend to a stop and quietly - easily dismount at ANY time before you get nervous or the horse gets going. Practice on and off A LOT.
